Burglar Breaks Into Mount Vernon Home, Steals Money

The burglar fled with money when the resident saw him, police say.

MOUNT VERNON, VA—A burglar got away after breaking into a Mount Vernon home Saturday, according to Fairfax County Police.

Around 9:25 p.m., a resident was in the basement when he heard a loud noise from upstairs. Upon going upstairs, he found a man wearing dark clothes and a window air conditioning unit on the floor. The suspect fled when he saw the resident. Money was missing after the burglary.

No suspect description was provided.
