CAMMO Invites Local Military "KIDS" to Join Vocal Performance Program

Fort Belvoir, VA (USA) – C*A*M*M*O KIDS continues! On the heels of last fall’s successful classes of C*A*M*M*O
Kids, the Center for American Military Music Opportunities (C*A*M*M*O) is looking for its next group of talented
children in the Metro Washington, D.C., area to participate in this unique vocal performance program. Auditions are
held Sunday January 10, 2016 at 2:30 PM.
C*A*M*M*O KIDS addresses the diverse population of children age 16 and under who have one or more parents
serving in the U.S. military.
C*A*M*M*O KIDS is dedicated to artistic development and expression through contemporary music. No previous
musical experience is required. As military families are transferred to new assignments, there are frequent openings
for the program.
The goal is to develop, through singing:
· 1. Discipline, through practice
· 2. Leadership, by working in an ensemble setting
· 3. Problem-solving, from working together to achieve a common goal, and
· 4. Creativity, enabling them to express themselves in their own unique and authentic way.
C*A*M*M*O KIDS is part of C*A*M*M*O’s established array of music programs for military members and their
families and whose efforts have resulted in the formation of The American Military Spouses Choir, Sony Music
Veteran recording artists 4TROOPS, the Voices of Service and countless other developing veteran, service member
and military family member musical expression opportunities.

and U.S. Army veteran Victor Hurtado that believes in the healing power of music. Run by veterans for
