Fairfax County Plans Sobriety Checkpoint This Weekend

Fairfax County Police announced today they will be out Friday night, Oct. 24, conducting a sobriety checkpoint in the Mount Vernon Police District.

Police usually do not disclose the locations of the checkpoints when they are conducting them, according to a spokeswoman.

The Mount Vernon Police District is approximately 26 square miles and includes Richmond Highway Corridor from City of Alexandria on the north to Fort Belvoir on the south. It contains Mount Vernon Estate and Garden, Woodlawn Plantation, Fort Hunt National Park, and Huntley Meadows Park.
