Man Shot in Alexandria Area of Fairfax County
Man, 49, suffered a gunshot to the upper body and was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injury, police said.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — Fairfax County Police responded late Friday night just before midnight, for a report of a shooting in a residence in the 8300 block of Brockham Drive (see map below).
A 49-year-old man, who was visiting an acquaintance, suffered a gunshot to the upper body and was transported to Fairfax Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to a news release from FCPD.
Preliminary information shows that the suspect arrived at the residence and an argument occurred between them prior to the shooting, police said. The suspect fled and was described as a black male, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall and armed with a handgun, according to police.

Fairfax County Police detectives do not believe this was a random act and are still investigating the relationship between the suspect and the victim, the police department’s news release said.
Charges are pending further investigation, police said.
