Man Struck In Head, Teen Ambushed In Mount Vernon Robberies
Police are investigating two cases of people being assaulted from behind and robbed in Mount Vernon.

MOUNT VERNON, VA—Police are investigating two disturbing assaults and robberies that happened in Mount Vernon over the weekend.
In one case, the victim was struck in the head with an object around 5 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2. Police say the victim was walking when he was knocked out from assault near Seven Woods Drive and Sausalito Place. When he woke up, he found some personal items were missing. The victim had minor injuries. No suspect description was available.
The other case involved a teen being assaulted from behind when walking home around 4:45 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 1. She told police someone approached from behind and took her cell phone. The victim had minor injuries. The suspect is described as a black man between 18 and 20 years old, around 5 foot 8 with short hair.
