Mount Vernon Area Delivery Driver Robberies May Be Linked

Police are investigating nine robberies of delivery drivers in the last two months.

MOUNT VERNON, VA—Fairfax County Police are investigating nine robberies of delivery drivers in the Mount Vernon area that may be connected.

The incidents happened between Jan. 13 and March 4. In each incident, the suspect orders food by phone to be delivered to a random address. When the delivery driver arrives, the suspect takes the food and personal property. Police say the suspect displayed a gun during the robberies.

  • Jan. 18, 4:30 p.m. - Janna Lee Avenue/Tamarind Street, Mount Vernon
  • Jan. 19, 9:55 p.m. - 4300 block of Pembrook Village Drive, Mount Vernon
  • Jan. 22, 9 p.m. - 4300 block of Pembrook Village Drive, Mount Vernon
  • Jan. 25, 7:31 p.m. - 4300 block of Pembrook Village Drive, Mount Vernon
  • Feb. 20, 8:22 p.m. - 3400 block of Hollyhill Road, Groveton
  • Feb. 25, 11:08 p.m. - 4200 block of Buckman Road, Mount Vernon
  • March 2, 10:08 p.m. - 4200 block of Buckman Road, Mount Vernon
  • March 4, 11:03 p.m. - 4300 block of Pembrook Village Drive, Mount Vernon

The suspect has been described as a black man, with an age varying between 20 and 30 years old, 5 foot 8 to 6 foot tall and a medium build. He was wearing dark clothing with a mask covering his face.
