Forecasters at the National Hurricane Center issued a stark warning to interests in the Caribbean Sea Tuesday morning as Hurricane Irma moved into the region packing maximum sustained winds of 180 mph. Teen Dies In Triple Shooting During Family Gathering In Southeast

A 19-year-old girl was shot and killed in a triple shooting during a family gathering at her home in Southeast Washington Saturday, police said. Police are actively searching for the shooter who killed Unique Davis, and shot her boyfriend and older sister.

Alexandria Man Sentenced For Sexually Abusing Child

An Alexandria man has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for repeatedly sexually abusing an 11-year-old child. John Tyler Ellis, a 54, had been found guilty of seven felony charges: three counts of forcible sodomy, three counts of aggravated sexual battery, and one count of indecent liberties with a child.
