Hurricane Irma DC Update: Good Chance Of Direct Hit, But Track Could Shift West

WASHINGTON, DC — Hurricane Irma has been pounding the Caribbean lately and is barreling toward the coast of Florida, after which it is expected to suddenly veer north along the coast. And while projections currently predict the storm is most likely to move into Georgia and miss the D.C. area, several possible paths still have it slamming into our region.

Unclaimed $3M Virginia Lottery Ticket Bought In Sterling

STERLING, VA — A Virginia lottery ticket worth $3 million in the Mega Millions drawing was purchased at Giant Food, 21000 South Bank Street. No one has yet to come forward to claim the prize, according to lottery officials.

Woman Assaults Cop In Woodbridge: Police

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A Woodbridge woman is being held without bond after assaulting an officer Tuesday in the 13500 block of Castlebridge Lane, according to Prince William County Police. Sharnique Altamarae Alfrido, 35, of the aforementioned address, was charged with assault and battery on a law enforcement officer and obstruction of justice.

Suspicious Vehicle Near White House Sends Authorities Scrambling

WASHINGTON, DC — The U.S. Secret Service spotted a suspicious vehicle near Lafayette Park and closed a section of a sidewalk outside the White House Thursday morning.
