- An apartment fire in Roanoke County has displaced one resident. The blaze was reported just before 7 p.m.in the 4100 block of Wexford Court at the Cave Spring apartment building. The fire was brought under control in about 10 minutes and no one was injured. (Roanoke Times)
- Roanoke is spending more than $2 million to address deferred maintenance in city parks. The list includes projects in 19 parks and greenways throughout the city. Roanoke Parks and Recreation Director Michael Clark says the goal is to take care of what we have and modernize park facilities. (WDBJ7)
- Roanoke animal officers rescued a cat whose head was stuck in a jar. (WSET)
