The Historic Sydenstricker Schoolhouse invites families and neighbors to celebrate the monumental 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence with a festive, family-focused 4th of July Open House. Taking place on Saturday, July 4, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, this free community event offers a patriotic, kid-friendly kickoff to this milestone in our nation's history.  The event features interactive educational displays and hands-on activities designed to bring history to life for visitors of all ages. Guests can step back in time, grab a quill, and add their own names to a replica of the historic 1776 document. Free festive treats, including birthday cake and ice-cold lemonade will be served to guests throughout the afternoon. Attendees can also enter a prize drawing.  The cornerstone of the celebration occurs at exactly noon with a live dramatic reading of the Declaration of Independence, honoring 250 years of American freedom, and the ringing of the school bell.
