• Waynesboro Facilities Shop hosting Household Hazardous Waste Day this Saturday (rocktownnow.com) — Staunton residents can drop off household hazardous waste in Waynesboro this Saturday morning at the Facilities Shop on Essex Avenue, from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Accepted items include things like gasoline, oil-based paints, pesticides, and fluorescent bulbs, while electronics, tires, and business waste must go to the landfill instead. 
• New safety measures added at Westwood Hills, virtual learning an option (newsleader.com) — Staunton families with ties to Waynesboro schools may want to know that Westwood Hills Elementary remains closed after the recent shooting, with new door locks installed and virtual learning now available but optional. Waynesboro's superintendent outlined added safety reviews, mental health supports, and upcoming resource pickups as the community, including many from Staunton, helps students and staff recover.
