2-Year-Old Found Playing Near Road In Vienna: Police
A woman is facing a child endangerment charge after allegedly leaving a child alone outside.
VIENNA, VA — A woman was charged with child endangerment after allegedly leaving a young child alone in Vienna on Monday, Oct. 14.
The incident was reported around 8:14 p.m. in the area of Glyndon and Locust Streets SE. A man walking dogs found the 2-year-old child playing near the road. The child approached and asked to pet the dogs, and the man tried to locate a guardian. A woman who said she was the child's grandmother arrived.
Police determined the grandmother left the child on the patio and knocked on the door for the mother to get him. After that, he was allegedly left alone.

The woman, who was not identified, was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and released on a $1,000 unsecured bond.

October 11 11:22 a.m.
A resident received a call from someone claiming to be from the Social Security Administration stating that the resident owed them money and that he would be arrested if he did not pay. He was transferred to an individual claiming to be an FBI agent. The resident did as the callers instructed and obtained gift cards. He then called the individuals back to provide them with the information from the cards.
October 11 7:50 a.m.
Vehicle-2 was traveling eastbound on Ayr Hill Avenue, approaching Mill Street. Vehicle-1 (a bicyclist) was southbound on the bike trail when he entered the roadway without stopping and was struck by Vehicle2.

October 14 9:25 a.m.
A Town of Vienna Department of Public Works employee was loading refuse into a Town dump truck when a large door that was being disposed of, fell out of the truck and struck a resident’s vehicle causing minor damage.
Suspicious Person 19-010668
300 Block Old Courthouse Road, NE
October 16 2:00 a.m.
A resident reported a suspicious person trespassing in her backyard, which borders the property of the Westwood Country Club. When officers arrived, they heard the person in the rear of another residence in the 400 block of Course Street, NE. Home surveillance video showed the person entering the yards from the area of the country club’s golf course, then retreating back to the same area. Officers continued to search the area but were unable to locate the unknown person.
