Man Accused Of Sexual Assault At Wolf Trap Hotel In Vienna

Police say the man prevented the female victim from leaving the hotel room and assaulted her.

VIENNA, VA—A man is facing charges after an alleged sexual assault at the Wolf Trap Hotel in Vienna last weekend.

Vienna Police say the assault happened in a room between 10 p.m. Feb. 2 and 12:27 a.m. Feb. 3. The female victim reported a male acquaintance took her and her sister to the hotel. They used drugs in the room, and the woman fell asleep. When she woke up, her sister was not in the room, and the man became angry because his money was missing.

Police say the man began destroying property in the room, assaulted the woman and stopped her from leaving. A person coming to investigate the noise stopped the assault. Officers found the room with widespread damage and furniture overturned.

Vienna Police arrested the 29-year-old man from Annandale. He was charged with sexual assault, abduction, simple assault and possession of marijuana. He was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. The man's name has not been released.

Below are other notable police incidents reported between Feb. 1 and 7 in Vienna. An arrest does not always mean that someone was taken into custody and that a person is automatically guilty of a crime.

Assault 19-001181
Glyndon Street and Maple Avenue, NE
January 31 5:40 p.m.
Two drivers came to the Vienna Police Station to report a road rage incident between them. The drivers were both attempting to turn onto westbound Maple Avenue from opposite sides of Glyndon Street. The two drivers began yelling at each other. One driver threw a beverage can at the other vehicle, causing the drink to splatter in the vehicle. The driver of that vehicle did not wish to pursue charges for the assault.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle 19-001318

100 Block Saint Andrews Drive, NE
Between January 31 at 2:06 p.m. and February 3 at 1:08 p.m.
A resident reported an abandoned vehicle parked in the area. The officer found the vehicle to have been reported stolen in Fairfax County. The Fairfax County Police Department was notified of the recovery of the vehicle.

Suspicious Person 19-001365
Frederick Street and Ridge Road, SW
February 5 3:40 a.m.
A resident reported a car alarm sounding and observing four people running away from the area of Thelma Circle, SW. Officers located two males, a juvenile and an adult, in the area of Frederick and Ridge, SW. The two males were found to have various items that did not appear to belong to them. The adult was also in possession of marijuana (Incident #19-001366). The officers checked the area for any vehicles that appeared to have been tampered with negative results. Officers did locate some personal items that appeared to have been discarded near a sewer.
The adult was transported to the Vienna Metro Station for transportation home. The juvenile was transported to the Vienna Police Station for his guardian to pick him up.
A few hours later two residents reported larcenies from their vehicles (Incidents #19-001371 and 19-001372).

Petit Larceny 19-001371

1000 Block Tapawingo Road, SW
Between February 4 at 6:30 p.m. and February 5 at 7:40 a.m.
A resident reported that someone entered her vehicle and took several items including clothing, a phone charger, US currency, and a handbag.
Officers investigating a Suspicious Person complaint (Incident 19-001365) recovered some of the
property and returned it to the resident.
The investigation in this case is still ongoing.

Grand Larceny 19-001372
1000 Block Moorefield Creed Road, SW
Between February 4 at 7:00 p.m. and February 5 at 8:45 a.m.
A resident reported that someone entered her vehicle and stole her phone charger and prescription sunglasses.
Officers investigating a Suspicious Person complaint (Incident #19-001365) recovered the charger and returned it to the resident.
The investigation on this case is still ongoing.
