Vienna Fourth Of July Fireworks Returns To Yeonas Park
Fairfax County Public Schools previously rejected a proposal to host the fireworks at Madison High School.

The annual Fourth of July fireworks will happen again at Yeonas Park under an agreement approved by the Town Council Tuesday.
Yeonas Park, 1319 Ross Drive SW will be the spectator site, while the fireworks will be launched at Southside Park, 1317 Ross Drive, SW. Music and entertainment will begin at 7 p.m. and the fireworks show will start around 9:30 p.m. The Vienna Little League's snack bar will be open during the event.
The Town has an annually recurring agreement with the Vienna Little League, which owns Yeonas Park, to use the site for the fireworks show. Under the agreement, the public can access the field no earlier than 4 p.m., and viewing areas cannot be on the actual Crabtree and Rhodes ball fields. The Town is responsible for clearing the park by 11 p.m. and cleaning up by 11 a.m. the following day.

In January, Fairfax County Public Schools rejected a request to hold the fireworks show at Madison High School. Officials cited concerns such as damage to the school's new synthetic turf fields and the food trucks, pre-show performances and food items on the field.
Town officials has proposed the move to Madison to improve public viewing and add more room for food trucks. The viewing area at Yeonas park has limited parking nearby and is low lying, limiting visibility of the show.
