VIENNA, VA—The Vienna Police Department announced one of its officers was honored by the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce for life-saving actions on an injured person. Officer Pat Shaw was awarded with a Certificate of Valor at the 41st Annual Valor Awards Ceremony on March 22.

The award is related to Shaw's quick actions to help a severely injured person who was reported missing. The person was found in a Town of Vienna park suffering from severe bleeding from the head. The police department says Shaw provided "life-saving measures to stabilize the patient until an ambulance arrived on the scene."

The injured person was taken to the hospital and fully recovered.
