• West Springfield community equips school crosswalk with new safety tools (ffxnow.com) — Parents, students, and local officials in West Springfield are scrambling to keep kids safe crossing Rolling Road near West Springfield High School after county budget cuts briefly removed crossing guards. Community members installed bright orange flag buckets at the busy intersection, and police have now temporarily reinstated a crossing guard while longer-term fixes, including a planned traffic signal, are pursued.
