• 4th Annual Comic Convention at WRL is September 12 (williamsburgfamilies.com) — Williamsburg Regional Library is hosting its free Comic Convention on Saturday, September 12, from 12:30 to 4 p.m. at the Williamsburg Library, Stryker Center, and City Square. Expect cosplay workshops, anime screenings, trivia, a cosplay contest with prizes, local artist vendors, and a Friends of WRL used book sale—all with no registration or admission fee.
   

• W&M group aims to redevelop student housing into townhomes near campus (pilotonline.com) — Plans are moving forward to replace William & Mary's Richmond Hall student housing on Richmond Road with 37 for-sale townhomes, a change that would remove beds for about 175 students in the City of Williamsburg. The William & Mary Real Estate Foundation is seeking rezoning, special-use permits, and purchase of an adjacent city-owned parcel, with public review starting at the Architectural Review Board's Sept. 22 meeting.
