• Winchester Public Schools Require Photo ID for School Entry (thewinchestergazette.com) — If you're visiting a Winchester Public Schools building, you'll now need to show a photo ID at the door and use the intercom before entering. The division is asking visitors to plan extra time, know who they're meeting, and call ahead for unexpected student pickups as part of a broader push to strengthen school safety. 
• Frederick County Votes to Ban Data Centers, a Virginia First (thewinchestergazette.com) — Frederick County supervisors have voted 6–1 to remove data centers as an allowed use countywide while still grandfathering two pending projects, including the Winchester Gateway proposal in Kernstown. Residents from Winchester and nearby districts packed the meeting to debate legal risks, environmental concerns, and how quickly the board should decide the fate of those applications.
