Sergeant Carrington Released From Shock Trauma In Baltimore

The Baltimore police sergeant shot outside his home in northeast Baltimore was released from the hospital Wednesday. Dozens of police and fire personnel, plus hospital staff, gathered to send Sgt. Isaac Carrington off to a physical rehabilitation center.

Maryland State Fair 2019: Tickets, Hours, Concerts, Hanson

The Maryland State Fair runs from Friday, Aug. 23, through Monday, Sept. 2. Thoroughbred horse races will be taking place on the Timonium track Friday, Aug. 23, to Sunday, Aug. 25, and Friday, Aug. 30, to Monday, Sept. 2.

Mom Charged With Murdering Newborn Released From Jail

The mother charged with murder in the death of her newborn son has been released on $150,000 bond. Moira Akers was arrested April 24 at her home and indicted in May on charges of first- and second-degree murder, and child abuse resulting in death.

DC Club Owner From MoCo Charged With Soliciting Prostitution

The co-owner of two popular D.C. music venues — who is also the chairman of the concert and production company that operates Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia — has been charged with soliciting prostitution from a massage therapist, according to police.

BWI Passenger Banned From Flight Bites, Kicks Police Officers

A woman from Sacramento, California, was denied entry onto a flight at Baltimore-Washington International Airport Aug. 18, and her stop went downhill from there. Numerous passengers complained about the woman's drunkenness and refused to be on the same flight as her.

Driver Who Hit 2 Pedestrians Was Using Cellphone: PD

The driver who struck two women at a crosswalk in Bethesda last week was on her cellphone at the time of the collision, according to Montgomery County Police. She now faces multiple charges.
