MARYLAND — Several businesses are slated to open across the state. The new locations will include everything from discount clothing stores to opulent jewelry retailers. Plus, some residents want to revitalize an aging mall.

One Maryland windsurfer represented Team USA at her second Olympic Games. The Annapolis native finished in the top 15 of her competition.

A water lantern festival is also coming to town this weekend. The rice paper lamps will shine on one of the state's most iconic rivers.
