The past week included a complaint by PETA over the death of a snake in Pelham, and some fatal accidents involving young victims.
BIRMINGHAM, AL - the last week of March involved some peculiar headlines, one of which garnered national attention when the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals turned its attention to Pelham. PETA wants an investigation into the killing of a snake on a movie set in Oak Mountain State Park.
In addition to the PETA complaint, two vehicle accidents during the week took the lives of young victims.

The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals wants an investigation into the reported killing of a snake during the filming of a Netflix movie in Pelham. A whistleblower has reported to PETA that a snake was deliberately killed on the set of the movie The Devil All the Time, which is currently being filmed in Oak Mountain State Park.
A Pell City teen was killed while in the Florida Panhandle this week when he fell out of a pickup truck and was run over by another motorist. The boy has been identified as 15-year-old Kaden Johnson.
A wreck on Birmingport Road Thursday has left six people injured, four of which are children. There was one fatality in the wreck, a toddler in one of the vehicles.
Former Deputy Arrested For Possession Of Obscene Material
A former Jefferson County Sheriff's deputy has been arrested and charged with possession of obscene material. Phillip Humphries resigned after learning he was being investigated.
Police Standoff In Mountain Brook Ends After Nearly 6 Hours
A police standoff with a 36-year-old man ended after nearly six hours on Dunbarton Drive in Mountain Brook Saturday night. The man reportedly was taken away from the scene in an ambulance.
