Danville Package Thefts: Vallejo Couple Arrested
Police credit residents for tips that ultimately led to the arrests.

DANVILLE, CA — Two Vallejo residents were arrested this week in connection with a rash of package thefts plaguing Danville, town officials said. Investigators arrested the duo after officers noticed a car matching the description given by residents with surveillance cameras near the homes recently targeted by the thieves.
Police said officers discovered the car in the area of Camino Ramon and Fostoria Way just after midnight on Jan. 3. After contacting the two people inside, officers found items related to package thefts reported in town. Police said a search of their home in Vallejo turned up evidence connecting them to additional Danville package thefts.
James Garrett, 51, and Jamie Douglas, 36, were arrested on suspicion of identity theft, conspiracy, false personation, possession of stolen property, petty theft, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. The two were booked into the Martinez Detention Facility.
