As we head into the new work week, we've rounded up the stories you may have missed Saturday through Monday to prepare you for the week ahead.

But before we jump into Southern California's top stories, residents should expect cooler temperatures following unseasonably warm weather, according to the National Weather Service.

"An approaching trough will allow for notably cooler temperatures today," NWS San Diego forecasters wrote Monday.

"There will be stronger and gusty west winds this afternoon and evening in the mountains and deserts today. Gusts of 35 to 45 mph are likely in the wind-prone areas. Dry conditions will likely continue throughout the rest of the week, but then there could be a slight chance of precipitation later this upcoming weekend."
