SAN FRANCISCO, CA — As the weekend wraps up, we've rounded up all the stories you may have missed Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday.
But before we jump into Northern California’s top stories, Golden State residents should know that a massive wildfire spurred the closure of the largest grove of giant sequoias in Yosemite National Park and sent hundreds of people fleeing from the area amid mandatory evacuations.
The fire exploded, doubling in size Sunday, sending burning branches and debris hundreds of feet into the air, imperiling firefighting aircraft.

Elsewhere, higher temperatures and King Tide flooding are expected in the Bay Area this week. The risk of wildfire remains elevated, and air quality is expected to suffer in the Bay Area due to the massive fire in Yosemite National Park.
Meanwhile, the California Nurses Association and the University of California agreed on a new three-year contract for higher salaries that was ratified by a majority of the more than 17,000 nurses who work in UC medical and student health facilities across California.
