San Leandro Woman Hospitalized By House Fire
Four children were able to escape before firefighters arrived on Friday.
SAN LEANDRO, CA — Four children safely escaped from a San Leandro house fire Friday, but their mother had to be transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation, according to the Alameda County Fire Department.
The fire on Euclid Avenue was reported at 4:52 p.m. The fire was quickly put out, but it caused heavy damage to the kitchen and smoke damage throughout the house. The cause of the fire has been pinpointed as cooking related.
Alameda County Fire reports, "A mother of four school-aged children was transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries (smoke inhalation). Prior to the arrival of firefighters the four children and one dog were able to exit safely. Firefighters also reunited one additional dog with the family."
