MARIN COUNTY, CA — The Woodward Fire in Point Reyes National Seashore is now 95 percent contained, officials reported Tuesday. That's a 54 percent gain from last week.

The fire, ignited by lightning, sparked Aug. 18 just south of the Woodward Trail, west of the Bear Valley Visitor Center in Olema and about a mile inland from Limantour Beach. The blaze has burned 4,895 acres and caused six injuries.

"The fire is 95 percent contained but that does not mean there is not still a lot of fire out there," officials said in a news release. "It may look green, but as the videos on the inciweb (site) show, even though it looks green it is burning quite well."
