Monroe 2021 Election Voter Guide: See The Candidates

Here's what you need to know concerning the 2021 Monroe local elections including the candidates, polling places, voting hours and more.

MONROE, CT — On Tuesday, Monroe residents will head to the polls to cast ballots in the municipal election. Several seats are up for grabs, though some of which are uncontested races, including First Selectman, Board of Education, Town Council, Town Clerk and others.

Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Nov. 2. Voters who are in line before 8 p.m. will be able to vote even after the deadline passes. You can find your poll location at the Secretary of the State website by inputting your information.

You can request an absentee ballot here or you can visit your town clerk's office. All voters are eligible to check the top box that lists "COVID-19" as a reason for requesting an absentee ballot.

In Monroe, Republican First Selectman Ken Kellogg is seeking re-election unopposed. Fellow Republicans Vida Stone (Town Clerk); Patrick O’Hara (Town Treasurer); and Deborah E. Heim (Tax Collector) also are running unopposed.

Board of Education (vote for up to five):

Democrats - Theresa Oleyar; Jerry Stevens; and Chrissy Fensore Martinez

Republicans - Justin Orlando; Jeffrey Fulchino; Dennis Condon; and Christine Cascella

Board of Finance (to fill a vacancy for two years; vote for one): Democrat Samantha Spino vs. Republican Greg Beno

Planning and Zoning Commission (vote for two): Democrat BJ Hall is running against Republicans Robert Westlund and Michael O'Reilly.

Constable: Democrat Pat Tomchik vs. Republican Jim Weinberg


For the Town Council, the candidates are as follows (vote for up to five):

Democrats - Spencer Wesley; Anthony Agnessanto; Jason Maur; Dee Dee Martin; Jessica Katuska

Republicans - Enid Lipeles; Jonathan P. Formichella; Sean P. O’Rourke; Terry Rooney; Dona-Lyn P. Wales; Kevin Reid
