North Haven 2019 Elections: Candidates, Polling Places, Hours
Here's what you need to know concerning the 2019 North Haven local elections including the candidates, polling places, voting hours and more

NORTH HAVEN, CT — The polls are open and voting is underway in North Haven’s municipal election. Seats on the Board of Selectmen, Board of Education and Board of Finance are all up for grabs. There will also be elections for Town Clerk and Tax Collector, Town Treasurer, Board of Assessment Appeals, Planning and Zoning Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals, Police Commissioner and Fire Commissioner.
Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voters who are in line before 8 p.m. will be able to vote even after the deadline passes. You can find your poll location at the Secretary of the State website by entering your information.
Longtime incumbent Republican First Selectman Michael Freda is running unopposed. Residents will vote for one Selectman candidate. Sally Buemi is the Democratic candidate and William Pieper is the Republican candidate.

For Town Clerk and Tax Collector, residents will vote for one candidate. Kathy A. Spinato-Grant is the Democratic candidate and J. Stacey Yarbrough is the Republican candidate.

For Town Treasurer, residents will vote for one candidate. Stephen L. Gifford is the Democratic candidate and Laurie-Jean Hannon is the Republican candidate.
For Board of Finance, residents will vote for any two candidates. The Democratic candidates are Nancy Barrett and Patricia Ann Brown. The Republican candidates are Richard Monico and Timothy M. Doheny.
For Board of Education, residents will vote for any two candidates. The Democratic candidates are Frederick C. Rodriguez and Jennifer Cecarelli. The Republican candidates are Eleni Diakogeorgiou and Anita Anderson.
For Board of Assessment Appeals, residents will vote for any two candidates. Danielle Morfi is the Democratic candidate and the Republican candidates are Jane M. Andrews and Michael E. Fletcher.
For Planning and Zoning Commission, residents will vote for any two candidates. James J. Giulietti is the Democratic candidate and the Republican candidates are E. Richard Wilson and Brian R. Cummings.
For Zoning Board of Appeals, residents will vote for one candidate. The Democratic candidate is Albert Wambolt and Donald F. Clark is the Republican candidate. Residents will also vote on two candidates for Zoning Board of Appeals Alternates. Kenneth M. Quick is the Democratic candidate and the Republican candidates are Carolyn A. Yaccarino and Andrew P. Gorry.
For Police Commissioners, residents will vote for one candidate. Marc J. Calafiore is the Democratic candidate and the Republican candidate is Robin D. Wilson.
For Fire Commissioners, residents will vote for one candidate. Jennifer A. Caldwell is the Democratic candidate and the Republican candidate is Mary Jane Mulligan. Peter J. Criscuolo is running as a Write-In candidate. He lost a challenge to Caldwell, the party-endorsed candidate, in the Democratic primary election.
Connecticut offers Election Day registration, but those who arrive need to be registered by 8 p.m. in order to vote. Unlike previously, registered voters standing in line before 8 p.m. to registrar won't guarantee the ability to vote.
Emergency application ballots are available for unforeseen circumstances within six days of the election.
