Deputies were dispatched to the home, which sits off S.R. 372, around 9 p.m. April 7.

Hembree and Cory Siling, 36, got into a physical altercation that left Hembree with “significant facial injuries,” said sheriff’s office spokesperson Lt. Jay Baker in a press release.

Following the fight, Siling was outside when Hembree allegedly fired a handgun at the younger man, hitting him in the buttocks, Baker stated.

Siling and his girlfriend got into a vehicle and drove down the road where they later called 911. Siling was transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies located Hembree outside his home, and had to tase the man while ”attempting to place him in custody because he failed to follow the commands of the officers,” Baker added.

He was transported to Northside Hospital-Cherokee where was treated for injuries he sustained in the fight with Siling.

A handgun, suspected to be the firearm allegedly used to shoot Siling, was recovered at the scene. Hembree was booked in to the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center on Wednesday with no bond.
