Suspect Wearing Ski Mask Resurfaces, Robs CVS Pharmacy

The Cherokee Sheriff's Office said it's "likely" this suspect is responsible for 2 previous CVS Pharmacy armed robberies.

Law enforcement officials believe the ski mask-wearing suspect targeting CVS pharmacies throughout Cherokee County has resurfaced.

Investigators with the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office are investigating an armed robbery of CVS Pharmacy that occurred early Saturday morning at the corner of Highway 92 at Woodstock Road in southwest Cherokee County.

Deputies responded to the incident around 7:30 a.m. March 21.

Lt. Jay Baker, spokesperson with the sheriff’s office, said the suspect, who was wearing a ski mask and displaying a handgun, ”escorted a CVS clerk to a back room and forced the manger to open the safe.”

“Only two employees were in the store at the time and no customers,” he added.

The suspect placed the two employees in the store bathroom before leaving the premises with an undisclosed amount of money, Baker added.

This same CVS Pharmacy was targeted earlier this month by a man who allegedly entered the store and demanded the clerk hand over Dilaudid, a narcotic painkiller.

Besides wearing the ski mask, the suspect was only described as a black man.

Baker said sheriff’s office investigators believe this is “likely” the same suspect responsible for the robberies of CVS Pharmacy at 3785 Sixes Road in Canton and at 6120 Hickory Flat Highway in Hickory Flat.

The Sixes Road incident occurred in December 2014 while the Hickory Flat robbery happened in January.

Anyone who may have seen anything unusual around this store this morning or recognizes the suspect is asked to call 911.
