A piece of an Olympic gold medal that was stolen from a Midtown restaurant parking lot has been returned to its owner. Two weeks ago, Joe Jacobi -- an Olympic canoeist -- and his wife were having dinner with their 15-year-old daughter at LaFonda on Howell Mill Road. 'Good Samaritan' Tries To Break Up Fight, Gets Shot

A man who tried to intervene in a fight outside a Peachtree Corners bar Saturday was shot in the head, police say. According to police, Thomas Rushworth, 45, of Duluth, stepped in to try to break up a fight between two couples in the parking lot of Tavern at Medlock, located at 3230 Medlock Bridge Road. Officers were called to the scene shortly before 1 a.m., where witnesses told them that two couples were having a heated argument in the parking lot.
