Northside High teacher remembered after death from brain aneurysm (wtvm.com) — Students and staff at Northside High School in Columbus are grieving the loss of beloved science teacher Cassie Renfrow, who died Sept. 4 after a ruptured brain aneurysm. Colleagues describe her as joyful, creative, and deeply dedicated, and the Muscogee County School District has crisis counselors and a GoFundMe in place to support those mourning her passing.
   

3. Lawsuit about Columbus data center ordinance gets first hearing. What happened (ledger-enquirer.com) — A lawsuit by Upatoi landowners and Keep It Rural over Columbus' technology overlay ordinance for the proposed $5.18 billion Project Ruby data center is moving toward a decision by year's end. A Muscogee County judge is weighing whether the case needs a jury, setting tight discovery deadlines and signaling another hearing between Thanksgiving and Christmas that could shape the project's future near northeast Columbus.
   

4. United Way outlines affordable housing gaps to Columbus council (wtvm.com) — United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley briefed Columbus City Council on a major affordable housing shortage, warning the city needs more than 3,000 additional units by 2035.
