Captured: Man Wanted for Carjacking in Hiram, Arrested in Atlanta
Zachary Shipp, who allegedly threatened to kill a woman as he stole her car, is in the Fulton County Jail.

The man wanted for carjacking a woman’s car at a Hiram gas station last week has been captured.
Zachary Ryan Shipp was arrested by Atlanta Police Wednesday night, according to Paulding County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Ashley Henson.
“After being on the run for nearly a week, law enforcement officers from multiple agencies were able to finally capture Shipp,” Henson said in a news release.

Shipp, 24, is in the Fulton County Jail charged with theft by taking, obstruction of law enforcement officer, possession of a weapon during the commission of a felony, reckless conduct and improper/erratic lane change. He’s also being held on warrants from Paulding, Cobb and DeKalb counties.
Shipp was wanted in Hiram for an Aug. 8 carjacking at the Racetrac gas station on Jimmy Lee Parkway in Hiram.

Shipp allegedly asked to use a woman’s cell phone while she was at the gas pump. He then threw the phone to the ground, smashing it, and jumped into the woman’s car as she turned to pick up the phone.
According to the police report, Shipp told the woman, “I will kill you” several times as she tried to get him out of the car. He fled in her 2012 Toyota Camry.
Henson said the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the United States Marshal’s Service Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force the Atlanta Police Department, as well as the Hiram Police Department were able to track him down in Atlanta.
