Car Hijacker to Woman Before Stealing Vehicle: 'I Will Kill You'

Hiram Police and Paulding County Sheriff's Office look for suspect in car theft that occurred at Racetrac gas station.

Police have released a photo of the man suspected in a car hijacking at a Racetrac gas station in Hiram last week.

Zachary Ryan Shipp, 24, is wanted on charges of hijacking a motor vehicle and criminal damage to property stemming from the Friday, Aug. 8 incident at the Racetrac gas station on Jimmy Lee Parkway in Hiram.

Shipp allegedly asked to use a woman’s cell phone as she was at the gas pump. He then threw it to the ground, smashing it, and jumped into the woman’s car as she turned to pick up her phone.

According to the police report, Shipp told the woman “I will kill you” several times as she tried to get him out of the car. He fled in the car.

Shipp, wanted for criminal to property and hijacking a motor vehicle (both felonies), is described as a while male, 5 feet 6 inches tall and 135 pounds. He has multiple tattoos on his face, arms and neck.

Shipp is believed to still be in the stolen car, a green 2012 Toyota Camry with the North Carolina tag BKH9471.

It is not known if he is armed and dangerous, according to the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office. Call 911 if you see this man.
