Lawrenceville Grandmother Arrested For Killing Toddler With Vehicle

An almost 2-year-old girl was struck and killed by a vehicle driven by her grandmother in Lawrenceville on Tuesday, according to police. Investigators say the woman had struck the child as she was backing out of a driveway, carried the child inside the home, got back into her vehicle and drove her vehicle to her nearby house, police say.

Bail Set At $500K For Former Marietta Wrestling Coach Accused Of Sex Abuse

A former Marietta wrestling coach was arraigned Wednesday in Pennsylvania on charges of child sexual abuse, Monroe County officials said. Ron Gorman, a former East Cobb resident, was extradited to Pennsylvania after Cobb County Sheriff's deputies arrested him on March 3 on sex abuse charges. The case involved a youth, now 20 years old, in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, where Gorman worked as a wrestling coach.

Mass Outages Hit Metro Atlanta After Severe Storms

Cobb County authorities warned early-morning commuters Wednesday to watch for downed power lines and trees after severe thunderstorms rolled through the area overnight. One person was killed after a tree crashed down on his home in Jackson County. Most of the outages were North Georgia but included many areas of metro Atlanta.

Man Gets Life Sentence Plus 30 Years For Atlanta Murder Spree

Fulton County Superior Court Judge Kelly Lee Ellerbe sentenced Javon Fortune to a life sentence plus 30 years on Wednesday for his role in three shootings that led to the deaths of two victims, Fulton County District Attorney Paul L. Howard Jr. announced in a statement.
