Life-Like Drill at North Paulding High Simulated Active Shooter Scenario
72 students participated in the drill, which was conducted by the Paulding County Sheriff's Office and other local law-enforcement agencies.

North Paulding High School participated in an active shooter drill Monday, an effort to help schools and law enforcement be prepared should they ever face such a scenario.
Paulding County School District said in its Paulding Pulse blog the safety drill was conducted by the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office and other local law-enforcement agencies, and included 72 students who were asked to make the drill be as real as possible.
The simulation included 15 students who mocked injuries and 15 “fatalities.”

“Student ‘victims’ were instructed to make the drill as life like as possible, including yelling at officers to help them, screaming in pain, and struggling to leave when they were evacuated,” according to the blog.
“It was very intense,” one student told CBS46, which followed participants for this report.

The drill also included a simulated explosion, which filled hallways with “smoke.” The school district said the Paulding County SWAT team and other agencies were only told it was an active shooter drill before they responded.
