Paulding Schools To Delay Release For Eclipse

The eclipse next month is expected to nearly block out the entire sun for about two minutes.

DALLAS, GA — Paulding County public schools will be released an hour later than usual on August 21, due to a solar eclipse that will darken the skies in north Georgia that day.

The eclipse, which is expected to nearly completely block out the sun's light in Paulding County, is expected between 2:35-2:40 p.m. that day and will last about two minutes.

"The peak time to experience the solar eclipse falls during our regularly scheduled elementary school dismissal time," the school system said in a Facebook post Wednesday. "Subsequently, middle and high schools will delay dismissal as well.
