Tina Waddell, 42, was found brutally beaten along the trail in Paulding County Tuesday evening. She is currently at Kennestone Hospital, where she has been moved from the ICU to a regular room, WSB reported.

Thursday, Waddell’s family released photos to Atlanta media outlets showing the extent of her injuries and what she normally looks like. At the top of its report, 11Alive included this warning:

Fox5 talked to the bicyclist who found Waddell along the side of the trail around 6:42 p.m. Tuesday evening. “It was just awful,” Peter Skott told the station.

The Paulding Sheriff’s Office said Waddell was “severely beaten about the head and face and was going in and out of consciousness during the attack.” There were no signs of a sexual assault.

Detectives believed she was dragged into the woods, but was able to pull herself out to the location where she was found.

“Since the attack was so violent and her injuries were so severe, the victim could only indicate that a white male suspect with dark hair attacked her,” the sheriff’s office said on Facebook.

The family is hoping someone will step forward with information to help the investigation.

“If you’ve seen something, please say something, so we can all feel safe,” one family member told WSB.

The Sheriff’s Office urges anyone that may have seen anything suspicious on the Silver Comet Trail between the Chamber of Commerce and Tara Drummond Trail Heads on July 29, between the hours of 5 pm and 8 pm to contact the Criminal Investigations Division at 770-443-3015.
