ā¢ From classroom to clinic, Deal Scholars strengthen rural healthcare (nowgeorgia.com) ā Doctors practicing in Demorest and nearby Toccoa say Georgiaās Nathan Deal Scholarship program made it possible for them to serve rural patients at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Habersham and local clinics. At a celebration in Demorest, former Gov. Deal and hospital leaders highlighted how the funding is boosting care, especially for maternal health, and helping fill long-standing specialist shortages in Habersham County.

ā¢ Ten thousand gospel seeds (nowgeorgia.com) ā River Point Community Church in Demorest is aiming to pack 10,000 Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes this year and is inviting the wider community to help. Local partners in Habersham, Toccoa, and Rabun counties are already committing thousands of boxes. Organizers say each box, filled with school supplies and toys, becomes a way to share hope with children worldwide. Ā Ā Ā
