Behavioral Health Services Opens In New Location

DOUGLAS COUNTY, GA — The Douglas County Community Services Board is now operating out of its new Douglasville location at 5905 Stewart Parkway, Douglasville, Georgia 30135.

The Douglas County Community Services Board, or DCCSB, is a public agency created by state law to provide mental health, developmental disability, and substance abuse services. The mission is to provide and coordinate a system of community-based support for individuals and families of Douglas County including the cities of Douglasville, Villa Rica, Winston and Lithia Springs.

Specialty services will also be available on site which includes case management, supported employment and teen behavioral health according to Mr. Raye Lightford, Outpatient Services Director for the facility.

“I’m very proud we can provide quality services for those who are struggling with behavioral health issues, mental health and substance abuse and anxiety disorders,” Lightford said. “Having a strong supportive footprint in Douglas County is long overdue and knowing that our leadership is dedicated to providing the highest quality of services to our patrons provides me great comfort for me as a resident of Douglas County.”

The DCCSB provides qualified professionals who specialize in preventative and responsive services that help meet the needs of Douglas County community residents effectively and efficiently. One of the fundamental values the facility will bring to its new location is offering residential referral services for veterans who may be homeless and desire behavioral health needs.

New leadership is spearheading the Douglas County Community Services Board. The chairman is Charles Craton, M.D., Internal Medicine, Douglasville Medical Center, Wellstar and the vice chairman is Dr. Romona Jackson Jones, Douglas County Board of Commission chairman. The board members are Rochelle Robinson, mayor of Douglasville, Ron Wilson, chairman, Jourdan Technologies, Trent North, superintendent of Douglas County Schools, Queen Esther Martin, retired school teacher and gospel singer, Faymarie Landers, and former federal mediator with the National Mediation Board.

The Douglas County, Community Services Board, is focused on fulfilling their vision and belief that every person in Douglas County and surrounding communities deserve the support needed to live a healthy, meaningful life. The new chief executive officer for both the Cobb/Douglas Community Service Board, Foster Norman, has expressed his excitement for the new changes. The new location will host an open house for the general public on Saturday, June 30, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
