Ten outstanding Douglas County students have been chosen as 2018 Leadership, Education and Development Summer Business Institute Scholars.

DOUGLAS COUNTY, GA – Ten outstanding Douglas County School System students have been chosen as 2018 Leadership, Education, and Development, or LEAD, Summer Business Institute Scholars. The extremely competitive Institutes provide diverse, high-achieving rising seniors the opportunity to learn while living on campus at some of the top business schools in the nation. The inaugural year of LEAD strives to target an entire, specific school district to help more students develop successful paths to college and beyond. The Douglas County School System is the first district to take part in this initiative and will have participants attending Summer Business Institutes at Lehigh University, the University of Michigan, the University of Pennsylvania, and Southern Methodist University.

LEAD strives to address higher education access and career preparation by identifying and nurturing learners of diverse backgrounds to reach their highest potential.
