Five $3,950 Scholarships Offered To Grads By Douglas Business

DOUGLASVILLE, GA — Five full-tuition scholarships, valued at $3,950 each, will be offered to five graduating seniors from the Class of 2018. Jerry Hall, owner of Assured Comfort Heating, Air, & Plumbing and founder of All American Technician Academy, or AATA, is offering five full-tuition scholarships to the school.

Students who complete the course will receive Level One HVAC Maintenance Technician certification, EPA certification, and life skills/mindset coaching. This is a wonderful kick-start for a well-paying in-demand career field that carries additional entrepreneurial opportunities.

The tuition scholarships are for a weeklong course at AATA in Douglasville and include all training materials, books, and lunch and dinner during the course.

“Scholarships are very meaningful for recipients and their families because of the financial boost they provide,” said Lynn L. Murray, executive director for the Public Education Trust, or PET, the organization administering the scholarships, “but these scholarships are even more significant. They will pay for an entire course that will have participants workforce ready in one week with no school-related debt. With a few years’ experience in the HVAC field, business ownership opportunities are certainly likely.”

AATA was established in 2017 by Jerry Hall, president of Assured Comfort Heating, Air, & Plumbing, a $9 million family-owned company headquartered in Douglas County that serves metro Atlanta and surrounding counties. With the phenomenal growth of the company, Hall found it challenging to find qualified technical talent. To meet this challenge head-on, he built his own training facility for EPA certified maintenance technicians for his company. He had so much success training and educating students that have no HVAC experience that he decided to share this program with others in the HVAC industry. And All American Technician Academy (AATA) was born.

“I know not every high school graduate desires to attend a four-year college,” said Hall. “But every high school graduate deserves the chance at a productive and successful career that will allow them to support themselves and their families. That’s my goal in offering these scholarships.”

Students from all five Douglas County School System high schools are eligible to apply. One scholarship will be awarded per high school.“We are grateful to Hall and AATA,” said Murray. “These scholarships will positively shape the future of each recipient. I can’t wait to find out who will get to go through the AATA program.”
