March 18, 2011 (Marietta) — Resurgens Orthopaedics is proud to announce that Wednesday night Dr. John D. Knox, Jr. was presented the annual John C. Garrett Award.

The Garrett Award is given to recognize physicians within the Resurgens practice who exemplify the model Dr. Garrett provided, which includes great patient outcomes, wonderful relationships within the community, and outstanding leadership.
Dr. Knox, who specializes in general orthopaedics, practices at the Marietta (61 Whitcher Street, Suite 1100) and Towne Lake (2230 Towne Lake Parkway, Woodstock) Resurgens offices. “I was surprised and thrilled to receive this award,” said Dr. Knox. “I was also pleased my entire family was able to attend.”

After attending medical school at Wake Forest University, Dr. Knox completed his residency here in Atlanta at Emory University’s School of Medicine. He is a member of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and Marietta Rotary Club. He also serves as the Cobb County Community Service Representative to Lake Allatoona Preservation Authority, and is the Team Physician for Marietta High School.
Nominations for the 2012 Garrett Award will be announced in September of 2011 and accepted from Resurgens Physicians until December, at which time the Resurgens Charitable Foundation Board will vote on the nominees and declare a winner.
