Beltway Crash: Car Slams Into Bridge, Driver Dies

Police suspect that a driver who died in a Bethesda crash on the Beltway was driving while drunk. Maryland State Police say that Jose Leonel Bonilla Torres, 23, of Herndon, Va., died in the single-car crash. Troopers from the Rockville Barrack responded to the collision about 2:46 a.m. Sunday on the outer loop of I-495 at Connecticut Avenue.

Rockville Salon Owner Charged with Human Trafficking

Several women from New York were reportedly the victims of human trafficking, say authorities, who charge they were kept housed in a Rockville salon owner’s home. Some of the women who worked at Star Foot Spa and the Sun Foot Spa, located at 966 Hungerford Drive, Suites 11A and 11B in Rockville, reportedly also engaged in prostitution.

Bill Honoring Fallen Harford Sheriff’s Deputies Signed into Law

Gov. Larry Hogan signed a bill Monday morning that raises the age at which children of fallen law enforcement officers may receive death benefits. The emergency legislation was designed to be a tribute to Harford County Senior Deputy Patrick Dailey and Deputy First Class Mark Logsdon, who died in the line of duty on Feb. 10.
