Human action appears to be responsible for the deaths of 13 bald eagles on Maryland’s Eastern Shore – the state’s largest die-off of the protected birds in 30 years, authorities say.

Construction Worker Killed By Falling Tree

Authorities have not yet identified a worker who died Thursday afternoon when he was hit by a falling tree at a Temple Hills construction site.

Prince George’s County Fire Department spokesman Mark Brady said via Twitter that the accident happened in the 5000 block of Yorkville Road. Work crews were removing trees at a construction site when a tree fell, striking a man. >>> Read more.

3 Heroin Overdoses Reported Within Hours in Harford Overnight

Paramedics in Harford County responded to three heroin overdoses Wednesday night, according to Rich Gardiner, spokesman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.
