Assistant Principal Rocks Out to 'Snowline Bling'

Do Harford County's snow day announcements make you want to break out in song and dance? This assistant principal did.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD – The announcement that Harford County Public Schools would be closed for the rest of this week inspired one administrator to follow another kind of calling and produce his own music video.

Havre de Grace High School Assistant Principal Brad Spence dropped ”Snowline Bling” on YouTube Wednesday.

Spence regularly posts video blogs on his Warrior Tube channel, and the latest quickly made its way through the grapevine and reached the voice behind Harford County’s “Snowline.”

In reply, the Harford County Public Schools communications staff who announce snow closures rated the video as “awesome,” stating: “Shout-out to Havre de Grace High School Assistant Principal Brad Spence for this awesome remix—you made us smile!” in a post on the school system’s Facebook page Thursday.

Spence’s production is a riff on Drake’s video “Hotline Bling,” with a Harford County spin.

Here are some of his original “Snowline Bling” lyrics: “She always calls me on my cell phone/ whenever there is no school...And I know when that Snowline Bling/ it can only mean one thing....Ever since we left on Friday you/ been calling to let us know school’s out now./ Everybody knows that it’s not safe out./ Trucks are working hard to get us plowed out...She always calls me on my cell phone/ whenever there is no school...”
