Officers reported recovering a handgun with an obliterated serial number, a large-capacity magazine, and packaged crack cocaine. Both suspects now face a range of firearm, drug, and motor vehicle charges in Boston courts.

City leaders say they're evaluating safety along the corridor and designing official changes, following Mayor Michelle Wu's pledge to accelerate street-safety improvements after a cyclist was killed there in July.
   

5. Boston announces UMass urban public health internship partnership (bostonherald.com) — Boston is launching a new internship partnership between the Public Health Commission and UMass Boston that will train college seniors to teach health education in local high schools like Roxbury Prep and Boston Prep. Students will learn adolescent and relational health from city professionals this fall, then bring medically accurate, equity-focused lessons into classrooms in the spring, strengthening Boston's public health pipeline.
