Man Facing Weapon Charges After Brookline Arrest
The West Roxbury resident had an outstanding warrant prior to his arrest.
BROOKLINE, MA — Police arrested a man in the Coolidge Corner neighborhood on Tuesday wanted on multiple weapons charges.
Hakeem Cooper, 30, of West Roxbury, was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Waltham for three counts of possession of a large capacity feeding device, according to Brookline Lieutenant David Hill.
“Information received that he would be getting off of a bus in Coolidge Corner yesterday morning,” Hill told Patch. “Coordinated apprehension involving BPD Detectives, State Police’s Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section, Boston Police Fugitive Unit, US Marshals Service’s Fugitive Task Force, and the Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives Bureau.”

A loaded pistol was discovered on Cooper’s person at the time of his apprehension. Hill said Cooper has already been arraigned in Brookline District Court. In addition to his outstanding warrant, Cooper has additionally been charged with unlawful possession of a large capacity firearm, unlawful possession of a loaded firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and one additional count of possession of a large capacity feeding device.
