MA Patch Daily: Thousands Run the Boston Marathon, Security Goes Smoothly
Plus, where did those gunshots come from?, Patriots' Day, a marriage proposal at the finish line, and the passing of cherished residents.

The 2015 Boston Marathon race went off without any problems with runners hit by some soggy weather that didn’t, thankfully, dampen their spirits. There were no security issues, according to reports, although there were some long lines to get access to secured areas. And at least one couple – Dan Koh, Boston Mayor Marty Walsh’s chief of staff, and his fiancée Amy Sennett – will remember this day for the rest of their lives. The rain though caused the cancellation of the Lexington Patriots’ Day parade, unfortunately.
