MALDEN, MA — A new Asian skincare and cosmetic store celebrated its grand opening in the city this month.
Ronori opened its doors on 70 Summer St. with a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, April 17. Founder and longtime Malden resident Ron Nguyen opened the business after feeling there was a lack of a presence of Asian beauty-focused businesses outside of Boston. Ronori specializes in Korean and Japanese skincare with a selection of popular brands such as Joseon, Medicube, TirTir, Purito, Etude, and Amuse. According to the retail store, other products offered include serums, cleansing oils, toner pads, sheet masks, hair accessories, K-pop merchandise, Sanrio trinkets, non-prescription medicines, and cleaning supplies.
Mayor Gary Christenson was among those who attended the business’s grand opening, and expressed his satisfaction with Ronori’s emphasis on the in-person shopping experience.
“I noticed the Asian community here is vibrant and growing, but there was no dedicated Asian beauty supply store locally,” Nguyen said in a statement. “Many residents had to travel to Allston or Boston for these products, and I wanted to create a more convenient local option with a friendly atmosphere.”
The business is now open seven days a week. Weekday hours are between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m., while weekend hours are slightly shorter with the shop shutting down at 8 p.m.
“Ronori is more than just a brand,” Nguyen said. “It is a symbol of love and cherished memories that we’ve transformed into everyday happiness for you… We’ve handpicked the best Asian beauty essentials that actually work, prioritizing real results over fleeting trends.”
